Hi.
The latest whim that came to me was that it would be nice to build a WW1 despatch rider and motorcycle.
So I wondered if people on here had knowledge and suggestions for this?
French/Commonwealth/American/German in Europe or Middle East - I'm open minded about the details.
And might even settle for WW2 if that's all that is available.
1/35 / 54mm preferred.
Any ideas appreciated.
Thanks.

They look lovely, I too am tempted. I've seen the Copper State 3D wire wheels for aircraft and they are amazing, so these motorbikes will be really cool I am sure.

Some thoughts:
Zone Miniatures do a WW1 DR in 54mm available through El Greco (members of PF)
Elan13 (members of PF) do a WRFC DR in 54mm
Treefrog do three (if not more) WW1 DR on their bikes. Although toy soldier in style they can be worked on to produce nice miniatures.
Maisto produce a 1908 Harley Davidson in 1:18 scale which with a very little work can be made to represent a wartime machine. Readily available on eBay at reasonable prices.Just got to find a suitable rider in that scale (although there are loads of riders produced in that scale that could be converted! Look at the Minichamps range of figures).
I know that I’ve seen a model of a WW1 WRAF DR sitting on her bike enjoying tea and cake based on a very famous photo, but I can’t for the life of me remember who produced it. Sorry.
Hope this helps
Nigel

That was Aviattic, they did the despatch rider and the Phelon & Moore motorcycle and sidecar. It's no longer available I am afraid. You can often see a built up one on the Great War SIG stand at shows in the UK as one of our members built this, it looks great.

That’s the one but I’ve also seen a toy soldier version.
