Here at planetFigure.com we have integration with digg.com.

What is digg.com ?
Digg is a place for people to discover and share content from anywhere on the web.

If there is a post you like you can auto-magic-ally send it to digg.com.

There is a button on the bottom of each thread:

Here is a sample from my account:

Tips for good posting:

- USE planetFigures upload system! This ensures that your pictures are persistent. (I cannot stress this enough, if your images link off to external websites anything can happen that will ruin your thread, such as you remove a photobucket folder, a website crashes, etc)

- When completing a vBench project, it is best to post an all new thread so that when seen by external sources, such as digg or facebook the first post isn't your armature or primered figure!

- Digg.com uses FaceBook integration, so if you have a FaceBook account no need to sign up again :)

Why does all this matter?
When content is submitted to digg people can vote on the links sent, the more votes the more non-figurists see what it is we do and gains our hobby exposure, namely to a younger crowd.

That exposure increases our longevity and success in our craft, and that benefits us all!

Follow up:

When you try to submit a link to digg that has already been submitted (it will let you know) you simply click the yellow digg button:

Hi Gordy,

I can see how Digg.com can become a 'hub' for multi platform updating; question - How does the delicious (with all the dots in the right spots) work for pF? Same, but different?

Slowly getting a handle on the current century.....

cheers,
(now I have a non - steam powered PC)

Fairly the same, you've just so chosen the one (delicio.us) i'm least familiar with! ;)

The mechanics works similar though, to sum up the social bookmarks aid in spreading the topics around to various other websites without the hassle of cutting and pasting :)

thanks Gordy,

I was kinda putting you on the spot; I am getting to see the potential of the social sites, and how they can be used as a 'cloud' networking system.

I was really wondering if it may have been related to the social bookmarking for pictures website, visual.ise.us

http://vi.sualize.us/

Which I browse for ideas, or references, or whatever.......

free to join, not recommended for those under the age limits, as there is a safe filter, which os easy to turn off......

but if you're looking for Urban Decay, or Vintage,or street scapes, or celebrities, or just idea fodder, well, I share it here....

(although this is starting to drift off topic - feel free to shunt or knock this one reply on the head, as you deem appropriate)

Cheers
