Not too sure where to post this, but "The Lounge" section seems most appropriate.
Thought I'd share a few snaps featuring the figures on display in one of the cabinets in our living room.
Sure, most of the 54mm figures are pre-painted examples from First Legion's rather excellent ranges, but there's also a smattering of self-painted figurines in there as well.
Lemme see now, that's ten different manufacturers, including First Legion, Kronprinz, Manes Marzano, East of India, Aeroart, Andrea, Pegaso, Mierce, Alexandros and Nocturna - eleven if you include the unpainted figurine from Swarovski....
Hope you likee....
Cheers

Good Lord - a veritable army!

I very much likee :woot:
Thanks for that. I really was unsure if I ought to post mostly factory painted figurines here on this website, but did want to share these - especially the self-painted examples - seeing as I'm an "Absolute Beginner"
Glad you likee....(y)
Hopefully other guys will post photos of their display cabinets as well.
Cheers

Impressive collection Harry, they look great.

Roger.
I've seen me just switching the lights in the living room off, flick the one's in the cabinet on, and then just stare - with a Rory Gallagher CD on as background ambience.
Yeah, I know, need to go see the shrink pronto tonto, as per instructions from the Missus..!! (Who surprisingly enough, puts up with my addiction to this hobby with only the occasional mutter).
Man, I love it, whether they're ready made or DIY.

I was half-expecting to get roasted for posting pre-painted figures here, but didn't, in fact a few of you guys seemed to enjoy the snaps, so I took a few additional photos of figurines in our smaller living room cabinet.
The famous encounter between Bruce and Henry de Bohun on the first day at Bannockburn is naturally the "Jewel in the Crown" of my collection - and to a quality of painting that I definitely aspire to, although it's going to take a lot more practice before I even begin to approach that level.
The small Greek vignette is just something I knocked together over a weekend some months ago.

My word Sir,...that is an incredibly badass display cabinet. I bet you spend a lot of time looking around in there. So much to see. Very nice.:)

For a minute I thought you were only allowed Orientals :)
An impressive collection (y)

Ron
I openly admit I'm addicted to this hobby Ron. Keeps me out of trouble most of the time. Although I've only been involved with the DIY aspect of it for the past three years or so, I've kind of ramped up my output recently and think I do see some improvement. Long way to go yet though.
It's certainly not a well known hobby here and can be challenging at times - my latest order from Historex Agents has been stuck in customs for eight weeks now..??? I think it's cos they find it difficult to understand that folk spend a fair old chunk of cash on this stuff. Oh well, I understand they might release that order sometime next week.
As for Orientals - my Missus claims in all seriousness that these belong to her..!!..o_O

....Good God - that takes me back.
Hesitate to mention this cos I just know it'll make me wide open to lampoonery - - I lived in Bearsden during the early 1970's - all of a mile or so from the Drumchapel Reservation.
Which is why the wife swears in a Glasgow accent.

Not a bad place to live really, although I'm not sure I'd recognise it these days.
We were on Drymen Road, fairly close to the train station.
In fact, it was looking likely that I'd have to come back to the UK for a few months at the end of last year (work related) and was seriously considering renting a place at Bearsden Cross I found on the internet. I managed to wriggle out of it though.
Anyway. Enough for tonight. I've got the groundwork for a vignette to get on with tomorrow and might even make a start on my "Battle of Teba 1330" diorama.
Cheers
