As much as i have tried i cannot put off putting some paint on some resin ( delayed with brushes, wet pallete, paints). So first out of the grey army hidden away in the shed for a few years, when i ahd a bash at painting figures before is this chap;

Really happy with him so far. Need to add some red to his cheeks and sort out his teeth and mouth next

I am not the fastest of painters, plus only get a few hours a week to get any painting done, that said spent an enjoyable (and i cant beleive it was this long) hour sorting out his mouth, tounge and lips. Semi gloss coat in his mouth and on his tounge and a bit dropped onto his eyes. Also added some red to his cheeks, a bit more darkening to the deepest recesses. Started blocking in his head scarf;

Bit of progress (not the fastest painter !)
Got his helmet, google strap's and bandana blocked in last night, next to refine edges and then add shadows and highlights and try to turn the lump of brown paint to some resemblence of leather.

Managed to get a couple of hours in, to start detailing his googles and straps. Also started adding dark shades and shadows to his helmet;

Body has been base coated with my air brush, with highlights and shadows also airbrushed, will refine these blends after I have added the white flag patches on his arm and base airbrushed his life jacket.

I couldnt wait, so had to break the head's painting stick and place on the body to see how its starting to look;

On the home straight now, just need to give the whole bust a coat of flat varnish, add the scarf and back of bandana, along with earphones/ cables and add to a base (which is under construction ;) )

Didn't spot that bit of black paint, that's gonna have to go :)

As it was a nice evening in Shropshire I decided to sit outside and continue with the bust, And very pleasant it was to. While the scarf, bandanna and head were fixing themselves to the body;

I started on the headphones and cable, at first the paint just wasn't sticking, I had washed the resin and dried it with a hairdryer, after a few coats it all seemed good, so i weathered the ear-cups and the cable, time to add to the figure and complete the bust. Disaster, as i was trying to work out how the heck i was going to get the cable to reach his right ear, the paint started coming off and to make things worse, it was marking the scarf and jacket, managed to touch up those bits.

Then it hit (like a train) who hadn't primed the headphones - numpty !!, so they will be stripped tomorrow (of to the 'flicks' tonight)dried and primed ready to be re-coated. Mind still cant work out how the headphones for each ear and the connector are going to fit !!, maybe i fixed his head at the wrong angle, maybe i can heat the resin and bend it a bit better, if not, dunno - maybe cut the right cable and hide under the scarf, or stretch the resin (is that even possible).
Onward and upwards.
