Now I'm going to guess that if you've clicked onto this post then your probable answer was going to be 'NO, ....followed by the now familiar...N.A.F.N !'

He he he!

So bear with me.

In my opinion no one has successfully captured the 'Wittmann hunch' or the 'Wittmann nose'

I'm currently working on a couple of 1/16th dioramas based on the well known action at Villers Bocage, one from the more famous morning engagement, the other from the lesser known afternoon battle.

The diorama with Wittmann will be based on the photo taken of him giving his report to Sepp Dietrich, OC I SS Panzer Corps, and will be of Wittmann, Sepp Dietrich, Von Westenhagen (Wittmann's battalion CO) and 'Bubi' Weiser, late on the afternoon of 13/6/44

The second diorama will be based around Bill Cotton and his contribution to the events that day, and will involve the largest diorama I've attempted to date.

Will post some more photos soon.....

Cheers,
Jon.

Does not look like Whitmann at all!
Mike Good sculpted the only Whitmann look alike to date in 1/16th scale and it was produced by Kirin.
Keep trying.

Just to clarify...I'm not dissing Mike's Kirin figure, or any of the others he's sculpted (which I'm guessing is quite a few for many different companies.)

I'm suggesting that toy companies would probably not accept a figure with a hunch. From the many photos I've looked at it seems that when Wittmann wasn't posing for the camera, he had a distinct hunch. I have never seen this on a sculpted figure of Wittmann. I also think he had a bigger nose than he's normally given.

I'll scan and post some photos to try to back up my suggestions.

Cheers,
Jon.

the more Michael Wittmans, the more Maichael Wittmans :)
I think an earlier figure made by someone should never keep you away from trying to do it better.

Personally, I would pay special attention to his fanatic eyes, but that's also a painting matter.
But I must hand it to you, there is not so much footage, is there?

I do like his nose :)

there are many good pics of him.his wife did give an autor which wrote an book about him some fine shots.i have it and its very good and ritten in english.interesting is that there is only one pic where he wears an dot pattern uniform.on nearly all he is wearing black uniform.also interesting when you do him smiling he had an siccor tooth removed and wore an golden substitude.
it was this feature which helped him to indentify when he and his crew where found in the 80 ties in their wartime grave

Nice photo Carl, and enjoying the Pm's, making me chuckle!

New photos coming Mark, and thanks!

Markus.. know the book you mean....written by an idiot, but lots of great photos!

Cheers,
Jon.

We wont be satisfied until we have at least 27 different figures to chose from. And at least 5 of them should be in 1/35 in different scale and at least 3 should be pointing, the rest should be yelling.

Cheers

Okay. ;)

Cheers Steve,

Finally got my arse in gear to do some photos and book scanning, but I think I'm going to pop them up in a new post as I think the title of this one was ill conceived.

It's not just about Wittmann, it's about history man!

Sorry to be a pain in the arse, but the new post will be 'Baron sur Odon'.......a proper title that doesn't mention Wittmann.

Cheers,
Jon.
