Even though it’s not historical, I couldn’t resist Basil Fawlty of Fawlty Towers. 90mm painted with acrylics. I think it’s a good John Cleese likeness. It’s one thing to paint a generic face but trying to capture a specific person was a bit of a challenge for me.
My biggest problem was determining my scheme. I watched this particular episode over and over again, looked at clips and did stop & go with the videos. Sometimes I swear Basil’s suit is brown, sometimes it appears olive but I finally went with the green. Definitely brown shoes and green socks.
This one was for fun. Thanks to member Ryan_bg “Georgi” for bringing out this figure.

As much as I enjoy re-watching the episodes of this classic show from time to time, this one doesn't appeal to me as a painting subject. But that said, there's no denying it's a really good likeness, and your excellent paint job has really brought it to life.

Hi Rick

A classic comedy series and a classic reaction from Mr Cleese

Sculpt certainly looks like him and nicely painted ......plenty of laughs with this on the bench ...and a good excuse to watch the episode

Thanks for sharing, good to see what you’ve been working on

Do have a look at supporting the competitions see link below

Look forward to seeing more

Happy benchtime

A very fun sculpt and a brilliant paint job - you've really done the sculpt justice. And I like the floor as well, very true to the TV scene.
