Afternoon all
Thought I'd add a few pictures of this chap who I've just finished. I was spurred into action last weekend by my good lady wife who pointed to the shelf of doom and said "He looks nice why don't you paint him?"
Of course since he's been sitting there primed up for nearly a year I couldn't really say no
It's 1/12 and made by H&V painted entirely in acrylics. As you can see I usually paint the face after doing the rest; partly habit and partly saving the best till last. Nice thing about these larger figures is you can have some fun trying to reproduce different textures. I used mainly warm colours (including the black which has browns added to it) and wanted a 'red' tone to his face - the idea is that I'll paint Sherlock (cool, thoughtful and reserved) with cooler tones to hopefully provide a nice contrast.
I've mounted him on a temporary base whilst I slap some paint on his companion . . . .

ps - The tie is Watsons old regimental colours
