G'day chaps pardon my absence, but I got sidetracked with a couple of 1/35 armour projects.
So, back to it and my latest project, Roman Draconarius 4th Century. 100mm resin kit from Dolman Miniatures. I was guided all the way on this project by Gabriel Esposito's excellent book on the Late Roman Empire, from The Armies Of The Past series.
Painted with a Mix of acrylics.

Hi Graham

Great to see you posting , hope you enjoyed the armour tanks things , did they have figures with them ?

On to this fine figure , a lovely detailed sculpt , with your equally fine painting , liking the metallics on this

The shield design is interesting and the cloak colour looks good , like the pattern

The books by Gabriel Esposito are all really good references

Thanks for sharing

Beautifully done, and it's also nice to see a figure from the late Roman period for a change.

Dolman do a very nice range of figures but they are rather expensive.

Armour projects? Don't come swearing on here!
Seriously, though, this is excellent. So well painted, all of it, the skin tones, the shield...but that cloak is the star of the show. I like your metal finishes as well. A top project indeed. (y)

Beautifully painted figure, love the details on the inside face of the shield, excuse my ignorance of this period but what are the 'darts' of the same side of the shield.

Cheers Simon

Thanks Simon.
They're known as Plumbata.
They are lead weighted darts to throw at the enemy
