What a long title. One of several titles for this ptg by an excellent WWI artist. His work output was prodigious and he drew from memory. Anyway, here is my rendition in approx 1/32 scale, gun was scratchbuilt.
Hope y all like it.

Wonderful, simply wonderful. I too have been inspired by this painting but didn't dare try anything like this. You have (as always) done a fantastic job, I love your interpretation.

Hi All,

Thanks for all yr gracious comments. I got lucky with this piece. The scratchbuilt gun was surprisingly quite easy to construct. I used a number of scalelink bodies and accessories here. I like this old make of figures. Also used airfix and Tamiya figs as well.

Hi Malc and Steve,

Thanks for yr kind inputs. I understood that the artist drew from memory. He was trying to capture British troops moving a German 77mm gun. From what I understand, the dimensions of this gun is smaller than what is being depicted in the ptg. He probably enlarged the gun to emphasize the effort in dragging the gun around for dramatic effect.

Hi Nigel

Thank you for y kind words. I am aware of yr modelling skills and I am sure that you can easily surpass anything that I’ve done here.

You are very kind Victor. IMO the box diorama is one of the pinnacles of modelling and it's something I really want to try one day, but I need to work up to it. I love the way you bring scenes to life with a very artistic style.

I think your use of the ScaleLink figures is great as well. I might try some of their stuff because they have so many accessories that they are like the Airfix multipose for WWI modellers (but not quite as cheap).

Hi Nigel and Mike

Thanks for yr nice inputs.
I really like scalelink accessories and parts, happily intermixing them with all the other compatible plastic makes. As metal parts go, they offer the most reasonable prices for spares.
