ECW Ensign (Elan13 Miniatures, 54mm)

Finally got this one finished. It’s a 54mm Elan13 figure, and represents a Royalist ECW Ensign in Apsley’s Regiment, 3rd Captain’s company.
As I was examining the excellent casting, my cack-handedness managed to break the perfectly cast sword before I’d even got it out of the packet. I thought about gluing it back, but the probability of re-breaking it again (and again) was too high. I therefore found a long pin, hammered it flat, cut it to size, drilled the hilt and fixed it in. This proved ideal since I regularly brushed against it during painting, and hey …. no snapping sound … just an occasional pointed reminder not to get too close.

Painted in acrylics, enamels and oils.
