Finally finished this awesome sculpt from Maurice Corry and produced by Stormtroopers. What a great figure with alot of sharp details. It whas a great pleasure to paint this.
As always painted with oils. Any comment good or bad is welcome. There is always space for improvement.

Marc,
Nicely done. I think a little more softer soil/dirt along the flag edge would work nicer. Maybe where the flag would brush up against trees etc:
Just my 2 cents worth.

Remember that the colours would be cased until on the field, they would be in fairly pristine condition I think. Good job.

Hi Marc,
I'm currently working on the same subject (the bust version), and I have a doubt about the colour of the plume. It would really be full white? I understand that white plume was only for the grenadier company of the regiment, green for the light company and for the rest, centre companies and staff red& white
I hope anyone can throw some light on this

BTW I'm also wheatering the Colour...a lot!

Thanks guys,
I think Maurice and Stuart did some outstanding research about this figure. The instruction sheet says a white plume, so I painted it white.
It is easy to correct this one, but then I need more evidence :D

I think the color could be dirty. It whas from the day before the battle the color whas into the field. With the heavy rain the night before the battle and the early morning of that day it seems to me that it could be dirty.

That is perfectly fine with me, there is nothing to say a Grenadier company officer couldn't have found himself holding the battalion colour due to the previous holders of it becoming casualties.
It was just an observation not a criticism in any way. (y)

I shouldn't be interfering, I've got problems of my own with uniforms worn 100 years previously.:D

Hi Marc
I just joined PlanetFigure. I have been building and painting figures for a while (will post some soon).
Your Ensign, 28th foot is awesome, but my interest in the figure is also personal. My Great, great grand uncle was Ensign WTB Mountsteven, who was 17 years old, joined the Regiment in Dec. 1814, and who carried the color at Waterloo. He was present at Quatre bras and Waterloo where he was severely wounded. He survived Waterloo and went on to become a Major General (switched later to the 79th Cameron Highlanders, which were also in Picton's division at Waterloo).
Now you know the actual person is that the figure represents: Ensign William Thomas Blewett Mountsteven !
I would like to make this figure myself, but would also like to buy one already painted if possible. Stormtroopers is out-of-stock of the kit. If you or anyone at PlanetFigure can help me either to buy a kit and/or a painted one, I'll appreciate it. Can you part with yours ? Do you know anyone who might ?
Thanks
