My first item for 2023 is a bust of an Etruscan Hoplite (4th - 5th Cent. B.C.).
It is a Matt Grech sculpt from his own El Greco range (Scale 1/10), which I bought on my last visit to the shop.
Painting was a mixture of enamel, oils, acrylics and printers inks.

Catching up a bit with things ...nice subject , always liked Matts sculpts , like the way you've painted the helmet "plume"

What did you use for the helmet ?

Hi Kevin
Thanks for looking and taking the time to comment.
The helmet (and shield initially) were painted with a mix of printers ink ‘Copper/Bronze’ (El Greco) mixed with oil ‘Burnt Umber’. Once dry I applied a number of additional coats of thinned Burnt Umber until I got a finish I was happy with.

Cheers,
Andrew
