Just seen on the Military Modelling website that Euro Militaire is NO more

2016 was the last one.

The 2016 EuroMilitaire show will be the last.

Founded and organised since 1985 by a local group of modelling experts and enthusiasts in the Folkestone region and sponsored for the last ten years by My Time Media, the show is no longer sustainable for a variety of reasons not least the critical decrease in the numbers of the original local organising team and its volunteers, but also a downward trend in both the numbers of visitors to the show and competition entries in recent years.
Thank You to everyone involved over the years.

Sad to see the demise of a figure show but for some time now the writing was on the wall.
Ah well SMC it is then ( I was heading there next year anyway :)).

Well now lets see if a group of like minded people can do something to get a premier show back. It is sad but the organisers did not listen to the people that were telling them it was failing. yes it could be re looked at but the name would have to change ( as they have the rights to it and it would cost you a fortune to use it).

I for one would like to see if some other companies would like to get together and see what we can do. ( the Leeds show was moth balled because some traders wanting to get behind Euro). I would now like to say here that if any traders would be interested in doing some thing then pleases get in touch. now is a good chance to try and do something great. Euro maybe gone but from the ashes could rise something good.

we shall see we shall see.

I was going to go next year but it was a difficult decision because Eindhoven was such a good event and had everything that Euro didn't. Sad to see it go but all good things come to an end. Once it was taken out of the hands of enthusiasts and into the hands of a commercial organisation it was always going to be a matter of time.

I was at the 2016 show after a number of years of not going and it was obvious that something fundamental was missing from past shows. I remember long queues of people waiting to get in and that was sadly missing. Discounts and new releases were also absent from many of the traders tables.

Interestingly other long standing shows on the Continent still appear to be well attended, so I guess a lot of the blame for the demise of Euro has to fall upon the organisers.

I suppose Telford will now become the premier UK figure and model show.

Saw this today on Mili Mod web side. Very sad and I have to agree with everything Keith has said above.

Will be interesting to see if anything comes of Ian's suggestions above

Otherwise its head to Eindhoven
