Hi - can any help?

Ordered early bird tickets for Euro Millitaire via myhobbystore.co.uk but have yet to receive them. Is it usual for the tickets to come nearer to the date of the event?

Have not ordered on-line before, so do not know if this is the norm.

-Rich

Don't worry Rich they will arrive a couple of weeks before the event, this is the norm .....no problem.
Cheers
Derek
Many thanks Del - good to know. The good lady wife got them for my birthday last month and was a bit put out that they didn't turn up for the day :(

Late birthday treat - it will be the first show I've been to since the 80's. I guess a lot has changed since then!

Certainly has changed since you were last there Rich, the show is in colour nowadays. Confusing I know but you will get used to it.

Why the four astericks just for the letter i ?..and what's wrong with the word 'birds' anyway.

Mark its because he is a poor untravelled chap who has never enjoyed the charming young ladies of Port Kembla and Woolongong. Talk about rough, and that was just the guys!!!!!!

Good Lord :wideyed: how bohemian!

It just goes to show how decadent these type of events are getting :nailbiting:

And the type of figures on display these days? Way back when - the only bust you saw on the table was Mrs Doyle's as she lent over to serve you tea in the canteen :depressed:

More tea father?

Busts, Mrs Doyle has long gone. Ask Brian and Davie Mitchell about the girl selling brushes?
I do hope you will enjoy it this year, a few have mentioned that they have a feeling this year will be a cracker!

Really looking forward to it Don

Del mentioned Southcliffe - is this the hotel most folks use?

I'm just down the coast from the event but want to take the whole two days in without commuting back and forth...

Southcliffe is where we will be staying. Used to live somewhere else but I got to the stage of not doing to well on the stairs. Moved to the Southcliffe last year and its streets apart. Not too expensive, good clean rooms, great breakfast (fills you up till lunch) and great company. Last year breakfast was more a sort of comedy due mostly to one member.
100 yards to the hall so perfect if it rains, good beer raining or not, what more do you want?

Just checked the Southcliffe for the date of the show and the price is - well about five times the price of today's date

Checked out the wyclffe and it is a hell of a lot cheaper. Any good?

Honestly dont know Rich, I can only tell you where I have stayed and last year we found the Southcliffe to fit the bill!
We are coming a fair distance so dont care about the cost really! We even had a group member go to the Clifton.
The Edinburgh lads stay in the Clifton and eat there and I think they do every thing within about 300 yards, never need to move anywhere else.
If you want a laugh check the price of the Clifton!

Rich did you go to the hotels site directly or through an agent? The cost of a single room is about £33 a night. So our 3 days is £100 inc breakfast, en suite, and a hell of a laugh well into the early hours with some great chat. Mind you there's plenty drop ins from well known modellers so no matter where you stay look forward to seeing you.

Was going on a comparison site for the price of accommodation, I think a call to the hotel direct tomorrow will yield a more realistic price. ;)

That sounds more like it!

Will give them a call tomorrow.

Hey Rich how did you get on contacting the Southcliffe?
Are you another asylum seeker we have to look out for at the bar, and its your round when we find you!

The hotel is fully booked for the Saturday night I intended to stay, so will try a few others. May just drive across coast for the Saturday (the journey from where I'm based is only an hour away). Will of course seek out you folks on the day to say hello.

You cant just come for the day, go home early and say you have been to Euro. If you get lonely we can all come round to your place and give you some of the flavour!

Working on it - I may yet make the party :p
