There is so much confusion and argument regarding selling on PF lately due to the selling rules are not clearly define.

Here are some examples from the Clubhouse garage kit forum. May be is useful for the PF forum.

Thank you for your consideration and happy selling!

Before starting a sale thread:

These are the rules and guidelines for this Clubhouse forum.
Learn them, and follow them.

In order to make it easier (and more effective for you) start threads with either
WTB - want to buy
FS - for sale
A thread title with just a kit name doesn't tell someone browsing the forum anything. And most will just skip over it. You want to make it as painless as possible for any potential buyers or sellers if you want to have success.

Only 'Registered Sellers' can list items for sale.
Only 'Registered Sellers' can post links to their own ebay auctions.

All sale listings MUST HAVE A PRICE
No eBay type auction are allowed.
Do not solicit bids or offers from our membership. Solications for bids in this forum or through our PM system will result in the deletion of the post and a warning.
You must list an asking price and if you want, you can also specify OBO (or best offer). But it must be accompanied by an asking price.
(only exception is when selling original sculpts, molds and production rights.)

NO RECASTS!
Don't try to pass a fake off as real, you WILL be found out. Don't bother listing something AS a recast. It won't fly. The listing will be pulled and warnings issued. Just don't do it!

And last, but not least, don't forget to read the SELLING RULES.

SELLING RULES:
Selling here at the Clubhouse is a priveldge, not a right.
It is reserved for those who are active members that actually contribute to the community.
This place was created as a place to talk kits, show off work, and get help.
The selling came later and is not what this place is about.
It is secondary.
And will always be that way. So, please keep that in mind when conducting business here.

Only those who have the 'Registered Seller' designation are allowed to post items for sale, or auction listings.
In order to be given that designation, you must be an
active and participating member of The Clubhouse.
That means, you must be a member for at least
90 days and you have a minimum 200 posts. These must not be meaningless posts, nor just a chunk of one liners made in rapid succession over the course of a few hours.
Once you meet those minimum requirements, you may submit your profile information (as listed below) so that we know a little about you.

Seller Profile Info must include:

Clubhouse Member Name (Login Name)
Full legal Name
Street Address
Country
Phone Number
Email Address
Ebay ID (if applicable)

Contact the Administrators to submit your information.
This information will not be publicly posted, sold, nor given out to anyone... It will be used by the Clubhouse Administrators to contact you in the event of a problem...

Until you receive email confirmation from us, you will not be allowed to sell on this forum.
Once we have received your background info, we will review your profile and make sure the requirements are met, then change your profile rank to reflect your Registered Seller status.
Depending on current workload for the staff, this could take anywhere from an hour, to a few days.
Please be patient.

This confirmation process only needs to be done once and will remain in effect as long as you are a member, or until you change one of the Items on your contact file....

We require this so that we know anyone attempting to sell in the Clubhouse has some time invested, it's to prevent folks for joining only to sell their wares, as that is most definitely NOT what this community is all about.
NO THIRD PARTY SELLING. You cannot serve as an agent or proxy for another seller. You must be the direct seller in order to post the sales announcement. The only exception is if you are an official reseller of another producer's product, under which you are considered the direct seller.
NO GROUP COMMISSIONS ARE ALLOWED ! We have had nothing but trouble with these type of activities in the past and do not wish to deal with them again.

Non-model related items posted for sale should be cleared with a Moderator first.

The Clubhouse or it's Staff are not responsible for the transactions that take place on the Swap & Sell or the New Kits Available forums. Anything bought and sold via the forums are strictly done "At your own risk"
Any sales post not updated within 30 days of the original posting date will be deleted. So please keep your posts updated if you wish to still offer a particular Item or Items for sale. Once deleted, those posts are gone for good, so please be mindful and keep track of your sales posts.
Keep in mind, if problems arrise, and members are not satisfied, the Clubhouse will have the right to take action to try to correct these problems. These actions include, but are not limited to
Contacting you to see what exactly is going on, and how they intend to be corrected.
Locking any threads you may have listing things for sale.
Removing your registered seller status.
Giving you the
"Seller Non-Grata" tag. (you remain a member but warns not to buy from you)
Giving you the
"Slow Seller" tag. (you've never ripped anyone off, but it could be a long wait for goods)
Suspending your account entirely.
Banning you from The Clubhouse.

Keep in mind, if you don't follow through on your end, we are not going to hide the complaints.
As long as they do not break board rules, and the one lodging the complaint contacts us first and clears it.
I am tired of hearing about sellers who take money and take months or years to deliver what people have paid for. All the while, not bothering to respond to questions from those same customers.
Our first priority is to protect our members, not the reputations of questionable businessmen.

Have to say I don't think there's any confusion as such. Just needs a fairly simple tidy up.
There should be some criteria regarding earning the right to buy and sell but certainly not anything so prescriptive as the above.
I don't see the need to list prices for completed and painted items. This should be a matter exclusively between buyer and seller.
One of the aspects that jumps out at me is that unsolicited PM's can / will be deleted by Moderators on this Garage Kit Forum, presumably this means that mods have access to personal communications.
If I thought for a second that this was possible on PF that would see me leaving the site.

I think some of the above is perfectly reasonable (established forum posting record, all kits must be priced up etc.).

But I think that some of the other stuff is way over the top. Provide my personal address, phone number and eBay account details to the "Clubhouse Administrators" (whoever the f**k they are)??? I think not!!!

Rest assured Del, pF moderators have NO access to members' private communications (having only very recently "retired" from moderating, I can categorically confirm this).

Hi Guys ,

Some interesting thoughts and ideas here

I certainly would not be providing personal information to anyone admin or otherwise ..unless I choose to do so !

If I thought anyone had access to view private comms then that would be me gone as well as DEL .

The subject of selling is being looked at by Admin and mods and needs careful consideration .

The details from Tommy seem to mean a heck of a lot of work by Mods and we want to enjoy the hobby not spend all time on forum with this ..this is my view .

All members thoughts and ideas are of course welcome

Just my 2 cents. The basics. A price. If that can't be agreed upon as a criteria, then the rest goes out the door. Clearly stated in the title if its an e-bay listing or for sale here. Clear terms, such as whether the person will sell internationally or not. The required number of posts thing has always been a peeve of mine. While a person with one or two posts, which is made up of 2 'for sale' posts or something of the like, is a bit problematic, requiring a certain number of "participating posts" isn't my cup of tea either. Requiring that a percentage or majority of the items be figure related would be OK as well. I don't see it here too often, but other sites that are dedicated to a certain type of modeling require this. The again, I as a buyer can easily ignore any ad/seller that I don't care to deal, dicker or bargain with, without the need for any of these rules. Nothing sold here is a necessity to me, so if I pass it by, no big deal.

We were discussing the subject of sales in another thread here.
Opening new threads for the same subject is disorienting.
