Hi all,
I am working on Almond Sculptures' old figure of the Compagnies Franches de la Marine circa 1750's and am having difficulty figuring out how the powder flask attached to the shoulder strap. A web search gave me a lot of info about the uniform, etc but not much on this piece of equipment. The flask seems to be suspended by a length of rope, much like the tin canteens of the era, and the rope attaches to a thin buff strap. Exactly how it attaches (let me guess: by a knot!) is uncertain. Any info regarding this detail, particularly diagrams, pictures, etc, would be greatly appreciated! Thanks,
Bob
