This one was 'inspired' by the Joan Crawford character in the Crawford/Gable film 'Possessed'. I say inspired because lacking any still pictures of this character as reference mine was made mostly from memory, with a touch of imagination.

She's made entirely using the usual materials, MS+GS, with a bit of A+B, brass wire and balls, and resin armature bits. As with the last figure a little A+B was used in the final sculpting-sleeves this time-because it was handy as I was busy building up a new armature when it came time to finish this girl up.

Thanks Ian,
Now to see how long it lasts this time before life gets in the way again, as it always will.

Aaron,
Thanks, yes probably. You weren't supposed to notice though. Actually, I had hoped she'd grow into them as she got older, but of course they never do. Worse still, Daddy doesn't have enough scratch to get her another pair so I guess she'll have to keep stuffing tissue into them. Doesn't matter though as she seems to have a fondness for tissue topside, anyway.

Another nice looking figure Ray, females is something i intend to concentrate more on this year (the sculpted type of course :p).

Haha steve - Yes I have a few ideas from left field - will post photos later of what I intend doing - just a single word - Goblins'

Steve,
Thank you, it's nice you like this one and I appreciate your taking the time to comment. Making female figures is certainly an ambitious plan as female figures to-for me anyway-tend to be among the most difficult to do well. It is probably just as well to keep away from the 'real' ones though, as you imply, especially if the real one doesn't happen to be a spouse of girl friend. I know my wife has a strange reluctance to letting me play around with live female figures, but for some reason doesn't mind them so much in miniature. There must be some logic in it, though what it is escapes me completely.

Hello Tim,
Thank you it is very much appreciated, your comments. I kind of had a picture in my mind of a Rosie the Riveter kind of figure as this one progresses, especially after giving her the scarf, which I really like. The shoe problem was absolutely an oversight on my part as I simply used a pair I had made earlier. I don't mind them too much, and I'm glad the problem was pointed out to me so I can avoid the same error on future figures. The worse result is that now I think I should change the figures title to something like, 'The Girl in Sensible Shoes'.

Thanks again,

Ray
