Do you add flesh tones or white to make a colour look faded. Is there any oil flesh colour that works better than others.

The best results when it comes to fade colours is with Naples Yellow.
At least that is for me, and it works great in blue, yellow and green.
Maybe there are others with other colours but you should try it.

Mixing with white has worked well for me in the past - but I' not sure it works with all colors. Flesh or naples yellow will work too, just a different rendition - a little darker.
Another trick I have used is to apply thin washes to a white undercoat until I get the proper color saturation.
