A Fixture
Hi Folks
Well with nearly a couple of months of lay off from the modelling scene due to hospital illness and work I thought it time to try and get back to the work bench and catch up with some unfinished painting projects and some figure kit reviews.
This is a piece I started back in April this year and only required about three hours work to complete. It’s from LB Miniatures and represents a Fallschirmjager 1944 in Normandy.
The kit is 1/10th scale and was a real pleasure to paint. I did post some WIP photos of this a few months back and there were comments made about the shadow areas being too red on the face. I took this into account and have now re-worked these areas.
The ammunition belt was a little on the fragile side and broke into several pieces when handling it. I managed to shape it round the torso prior to painting by heating it with a hair dryer and letting it fall into a natural position, once painted it fitted back quite well on the bust.
Apart from that everything else was pretty straight forward, the splinter pattern technique was copied from the Jaume Ortiz painting book and served as a very good SBS guide.
All painted in Reaper and Vallejo acrylics, any comments most welcome.
Cheers
