... same question, for oils :

Fact : we now can paint a great classic figure of a German soldier in WWII, the new Alpine 1/16 German officer by Mike Good...

Question : how do you paint/mix a good Field gray (officer's tunic) and Stone grey ?
And what is a good colour for the helmet ?

Oh and what would be a good colour mix for the dark (blue ?) green collar ?

Assuming you don't want to start with a commercial Field Grey paint the easiest and most repeatable method for mixing Feldgrau is to start with grey and then add green.

A neutral grey is a good starting point but a simple mix of black and white will work. I'd use Titanium White and Mars Black if you have them; mix to approximately the right value (light/dark) for you midtone.

Then mix the green: I'd recommend French Ultramarine + Cad Yellow, but even Yellow Ochre might do here. Then mix in enough white to make this around the same value as the grey.

Then blend them together - not 1:1, often you'll need more grey than green in the mixture.
