This is my rendition of Mitches Fight for the Flag which recounts an incident during the Battle of Gettysburg involving the 6th Wisconsin and 2nd Mississippi infantry. I believe it’s based on the struggle between Corporal Frank Waller of the 6th Wisconsin and Colour Corporal W B Murphy defending the colour of his regiment. It’s a super kit and Carl Reid has portrayed the action of the struggle really well. Not seen many of these painted up which is a shame as it’s a good looking kit. Painted in oils over acrylic/enamels. Apologies for the quality of the photos.

Hi Neal

Thanks for sharing this , very nicely painted , like the work on the flag ( thought there might be a few bullet holes in it )

Looks like you enjoyed this as well ...was it base on a painting ( Trioiani or Kunster maybe )

Why not enters piece in FOTM as well as voting in previous months comp

Happy benchtime

Very good paintwork. Always liked this one, but never picked one up. Now that I've seen one painted, I may have to see about finally ordering one.
Thanks clrsgt. The only one I’ve seen was on this forum by Gerard Rubio I think.

Thanks Kev. There is a painting by Troiani depicting the incident and I think Bill Horgan did a version. I’ve got a couple of the Troiani books which were a great help regarding reference material.

You've been busy Neal...as said previously always liked the dynamic of this one....cracking job....take care....(y). Mike
Really appreciated Mike. Plenty of time on my hands to make a dent in the grey army. Best wishes and keep safe.
