I am always looking for a better way to do anything. Like you, I am interested, but the link doesn't give us much to go on...There has to be a program that can not only catalogue with pictures, but also help us manage our mixes for certain colors...seems that there has to be something out there that can meet our needs...
Interesting though, but need more to go on...I'll share whatever I find.

I was just about to say you can do this sort of thing in Excel. I don't know it well myself but my brother is a whiz at it and helped me to created some shopping lists recently. In addition to the features I used - calculating totals, subtotals and conversion from one currency to another (on the fly) - you can inbed pictures and make hyperlinks to larger pics.

You might find Access much more powerful than excel for this kind of thing. It's a true database software in which you can query your items and is extremely customizable. You can directly import your Excel files into it. If you have Excel, chances are you also have Access.

Well one of the reasons this sparked my interest is that i had already begun a database of my own in Access, at this stage it's fairly basic but i will be working on it and will let you know how it turns out.
