The book is divided into two parts, the first covering light and the second covering color. It's not so much a how to paint, you won't find any step by steps in there. However it is still really informative. It's got very nice detail on different types of lighting you can apply to the figure, how shadows work, using light to create forced focus, etc. And then for color it goes into basic color theory, how colors contrast and work together, warm vs cool, etc. I think it's a very informative book although more on theory than on the details of how to do this or that. It can be applied to full figures or busts. Here are some images from the book which will hopefully give you a better idea of what's in it. The posted images are from both the English and French version, so you can read at least some of it. The English version of the book is, of course, entirely in English.
