Just what it says really, does anyone know of a good figure (no bigger than 90mm preferably) depicting a british soldier at Rorke's Drift? (or similar)
I'd like to try and tackle something red without it going pink!
Cheers

Good Morning Simon,
I did a search at Red Lancer and turned up a few for you in various sizes and manufacturers. Below is the link to the Red Lancer search results page.

Well.......the link wouldn't work.....so go to Red Lancers....click on search.....type in "zulu wars" and then click on search at the bottom left.

Hi Brian,

Cheers, is that the 90mm one of the colour sargeant?
I was also quite taken by "The Man Who Would be King" I assume it's one of their Film tie ins, but don't know which film it would be? so not sure if the figure would be suitable to paint up to depict a soldier during the Zulu wars.

Cheers

Good Morning Simon,

Another technique I use to keep from "going pink" is to start with a base coat to British Crimson and end up drybrushing red as my final touch. This gives the deeper folds of the uniform a darker shading (British Crimson) with the top of the folds a more pure red.

just a thought (y)

Hi Simon

Can't believe you've never seen The Man Who Be King, Rudyard Kipling story with Sean Connery and Michael Caine. (y)

But for your purposes a bit useless. in it they were in the Indian Army, so if you MUST have a Rorke's Drift man, it will take a bit of conversion to make him South Wales Borderers.
