Merry Christmas & New Year to you too Jesus.

I love them they are beautifully painted figures and the mud effect is very realistic. One small point however, the red triangle patch of the 29th Division on the !st Lancashire Fusiliers figure is upside down. This error I think stems from an illustration in the Osprey book on the British army of WWI and has been copied by lots of people since, myself included.

Only a small point of accuracy on an otherwise excellent fig :).

Merry Christmas Jesus (Sorry, I just had to say that:eek::eek::eek:),

As a big fan of WW1 figures I loved both these pieces.

The JMD British Sergeant is superb, however I looked at your photos on your blog and the blue colour of the water bottle seems quite wrong. The canteen was made of blue enamel, but it was a very dark blue, and was usually covered by a stiched khaki cover.

Thanks for posting these pics.

WW1 figures

Hi Jesus,
Stunning painting as normal , love the way you have dirtied them up , nice and muddy , , these are great figures as well .

Roger ,
Thanks for info on the flash ...off to amend the Osprey book !!!!!!!..... I take it you mean MAA 81 plate D2 , one other question ..is the flash correct for the 56th Division (plate D1) ? ie an upside down triangle (was going to put inverted ..but couldn't spell it !!!!!)

Happy New Year to all

Outstanding painting! Here's a photo of Pattern 1908 equipment and if you look closely you can see what Tony means. The painted top of the water bottle (canteen) is showing just below the cork. The water bottle was painted with blue enamel but the cover is khaki. As you can see in this photo, the khaki color of the webbing, back pack and the canteen cover varied between light tan and this greenish khaki/almost olive drab. If I had to guess, I would say the back pack had been issued and used in the field, thus its' bleached appearance, and the rest of the set was possibly never issued and never used in the field.

All the best,
Dan

Very nice work again Jesus, the groundwork for all the figures is excellent as well as the painting, I have always followed your work and look in on your web site quite often, thanks for sharing these with us.
