Sculpting is my full-time job and the past several years that has left me virtually no time to paint. Nobody was paying me to paint! :(:meh:

But that gets old after a while (years in this case). I started painting this figure last year and now i finally got around to finishing it for the SCAHMS show. It is a 75mm Japanese Cavalry Officer from the Russo-Japanese War of 1904, sculpted by myself.

He is painted in a combination of Vallejo Acrylics, Testor and Humbrol enamels and a bit of oil paint here and there. I hope you like him!

If you do, it is available under the United Empire label from Michael Miniatures:

See you at MFCA....

I have the 54mm version of this figure, but since I have made a point of collecting your sculpts, I am going to have to get this one pronto. I am just sorry I missed seeing it at SCAHMS.

Hey Mike that's really cool. You still can paint like a pro;).. Did you have to go out and buy new brushes?
Do some more.
Matt

It's very nice, Mike. Very beautiful ! (y)

I have purchased this figure a while ago, was attracted by the fantastic sculpture, but also by the unusual and very interesting subject - the first non-european army that defeated a major European power ... a sign that a new era had begun.

Thanks for posting the pictures, they're candy to the eye !
