Your greens are absolutely fantastic. I love the way they turned out! The whole figure is well sculpted with the setting only adding to the dramatic effect. Very well done ! ;) (y)

Dear Maurizio,
beautifull work! Fantastic painting!
But I think you have any mistakes in uniform.
Sleeve must have one green detail. See image.

What banner you painted? What regimrent?

regards,
Konstantin

Hi guys,
thank you to Akritis Jim and Konstantin.

The banner is the "white flag" mod.1797 to the Revel Regiment in Borodino.

The figure is General Alexander Alexeevic Tuthkov, commandig officer the Rgt.
Alexander Alexeevich was the youngest from brothers Tuchkovs who took part in the Napoleonic wars.
He participated in the campaign of 1805 and after it in the war against Sweden .
In the war of 1812 he was a General and commanded a brigade in the 3-rd Infantry Division. He distinguished himself in the battles at Vitebsk and Smolensk in the detachment of his brother Pavel Alexeevich.
In the Borodino battle he was the commander of the Revel regiment and was among the defenders of the Semenovsky (Bagration's) fleshes (fortifications).
In one of the attacks of the French he with a banner in his hands led his regiment into the bayonet attack under the enemy shot-cases and was killed in this attack.
Here you can see the portrait of this young brave general. Fedor Glinka, a participant of the war of 1812, wrote about him:
There is a soul in his features, especially in his eyes, his lips. You can imagine that a man who has them has heart, imagination and can think and dream even in a military uniform..."

The document that help me for uniforms :
the images that you can look,
and the books
E.M.I. serie DE BELLO: L’esercito Russo 1805/15 Fanteria
Osprey: The Russian Army of the Napoleonic Wars (1) Infantry 1799-1814
P. Haythornthwaite M. Chappell: Uniforms of Napoleon’s Russian Campaign.

I hope that this is correct. :)

Thank you Konstantin for the further images
I wait news to you.

Cheers

Hi Maui,

OK, I supposition that your figure is present very famous and youngest general of Russian army A.A. Tuchkov. You take very dramatic and tragical episod of the Borodino battle.

In my previous picture presents all 3 brothers:
general-major P.T. Tuchkov, general-leutenant N.A. Tuchkov and general-major A.A. Tuchkov.

Image General in battle painted modern artist. And I think he made one mistake.
I send picture from very famous historical research by Viskovatow.

I'm sorry but in any foreign materials about Russian army I find many errors. ;)
In any case your work is Great!
