Hi

As a newbie to the larger scale figure modelling scene (history is 1/35 scale) I have never been that enamoured with Tamiya or Revell's flesh colours (XF15 acrylic and 17 enamel). They are ok for a base, but I think it is too yellow. I would expect something slightly more brown in hue to be honest.

Does anyone have a suggestions as to how to perfect the best skin tone, fully aware that not everyone is white! I am happy to mix in both acrylic and enamel (obviously not one with the other!) but have had varying degrees of success in the past.

Thanks

Robert.

I always mix, using "flesh" as the starting point, and add white for highlights and dark earth for shade. Different proportions of each according to stages. There are maybe 6 or 7 tones on a face, hands etc by the end.
I use Humbrol enamel.
