We continue to expand our range of out of production figures by acquiring the following figures from Firing Line.

The figures we have acquired are, in chronological order and with the sculptors name, as follows:-

Colonial Period
Soldier, Cape Wars, 1851 - unsure of sculptor
Soldier Boer War, 1899, Slade Wallace Equipment - Carl Reid
Soldier Boer War or just home from - 1900/1901 - with Bandolier - Carl Reid (with 120mm pub front !)

WW1
Home for Christmas Vignette - Carl Reid - with 120mm GWR coach doorway of a soldier boarding a train with his wife on the platform.
British Officer Standing - Adaptation by Peter Morton of a Peter Morton Figure
Infantryman Standing by grave - Carl Reid
Infantryman Standing holding tea mug - Carl Reid
Vickers Machine Gunners [two figures] - Roger Andrews - includes trench
ANZAC Infantryman, 1915 - Peter Morton
RFC Officer with dog - vignette - Peter Morton- includes cut down propeller grave marker
Remembrance Vignette - two figures of a woman & boy standing by a full scale war memorial, plus a 90mm WW1 Figure [sold also as a separate kit] on top. Boy - Peter Morton. Woman & 90mm figure - Carl Reid. (The women is the same women who saw her husband off to war in the "Home for Christmas" vignette, creating the story of leaving for the front, the grave and the remembrance memorial).
Red Baron standing figure

WW2
Bren Gunner, 1940 - Roger Andrews
Soldier, North Africa, 1942 holding Lee Enfield fitted with a grenade launcher - Roger Andrews
AA Gunner, Royal Navy, 1942 - Carl Reid - with mounted twin Lewis guns
Infantryman, 1944 - Peter Morton

Post War
Colour Sergeant, Tropical Service Dress, 1960s - Roger Andrews
Soldier, Walking, Soldier '95 kit with both UN beret & combat helmet - Carl Reid
Soldier, Kneeling, Soldier'95 kit with both UN beret & combat helmet - Carl Reid
RAF Officer, Tornado Aircrew - Peter Morton

Many of these figures are based on Mike Chappell drawings and have appeared in Osprey books.

These figures come with the exceptional Firing Line etch fret detailing sets, which some modellers love and some hate. We will probably detail a number of figures and issue them as standard figures, with the option to purchase a "super -detailing set" for those who want them.

This also allows us some tremendous conversion options, such as the WW1 Vickers team (with trench) being converted to a WW2 team too: the Vickers etch fret contains details for both WW1 and WW2 versions.

Time wise, we will integrate these and release them over the coming months with the Tornado aircrew being available shortly.

Regards,

Jackie

Soldier, Cape Wars, 1851 - unsure of sculptor..............Carl Reid did one for "Chosen Men" Officer 74th Highlanders, could it be this one?
Will the Pub Front and Coach doorway be produced in resin or kept in the photo etch?

Barrie.

Superb acquisition. I wondered when David Parkins was going to re-release them, now we know!

Best wishes,

Mike

Thanks for your comments so far.

The scale of all of these figures is 120mm, except for the 90mm figure standing on top of the War Memorial.

And the Cape Wars, 1851 figure is the former "Chosen Men" officer, 74th Highlanders, so looks like it is the Carl Reid sculpt.

We don't have a full set of pictures yet and will need to go through the usual process of new moulds and castings before we are able to provide a full selection but we do now have these to wet appetites.

From left to right
Top: Cape Wars, Late Boer War, Bren Gunner, Western Desert and the 120mm War memorial with the 90mm figure on top.
Bottom: RFC vignette, 1944 Tommy and a WW1 Officer.

The etch buildings - such as the War Memorial above - will be converted to resin. This will obviously take some time but all will be available as soon as we can do so. If feasible, we may offer an etch super detail set along with the resin structures for those who want them, because they can make a difference.

We are also looking to set up our website now that we have sufficient figure stock to justify the costs: again, as soon as we can do so but realistically now next year. Meanwhile, we can be contacted via our email address of [email protected]

We do occasionally sell via eBay with a number of figures actually to be listed over the next 5 days or so. But please email for a stock list until the website is up and running.

Finally, we do have a few busts to look at but no decision yet on whether or not to put them into the market. I will update the thread with news as when I can.

I've done the Op Granby figure and the 1990s Brit infantry standing. Both are recommend though the head on the latter looked a little off and was replaced with a new one from the spares box. I look forward to seeing the whole range when the website up and running.
