framing a flat

I'm finished a semi-flat from Keith Farrar (line infantry 1796).
Now i'm so far that I can frame it.
How do I do that. I have the frame, but the "flat" doesn't fit behind the glass.
What is common in the flat figure world.

Hi Marc. I know two possibilities. Without glas or you put a distance piece between frame and the background and then you can use the glass

Marc, leaving the glass out is probably the best solution, I also feel it shows off the paintwork better too.

And what is used as a backdrop. Paper, clothing, or another kind of stuff.
I whas thinking of mountboard.......is that common.

Mountboard is a good option Marc but whatever you think looks best, alternatively you can print a background or draw or paint one yourself.

You're welcome Marc. Decoupage frames are are a better alternative than normal picture frames.

Never heard about that kind of frames Roger, and I have never seen it in the store's.

It looks like mine is a reversed......
