Hi guys

finished this a couple of days before I went on holiday last week - a bit if artistic license regarding the scenery - not actually a scene from the film, although the background is taken from the burning of Atlanta scene of the film.

Hi Guys

Thanks for all of the positive comments.

Andrew - thanks for answering Rob's question regarding the source of the figures. I was given one set a few years ago, when the set first came out and had initially thought about setting them in building with a staircase behind them, but could not get the enthusiasm to do it so the figures sat in the stash.

Regarding the idea - I cannot take the credit, a few years ago I saw something similar but with Andrea's Charlie Chaplin figure and pondered on the idea for a long time. Earlier this year I had a bit of a clear-out of part of my stash and decided to buy a second set if the figures, and go for it.

It was a fun project, but more woodworking than modelling. The process for the build was:

1 - rather than scan the box art it was easier to 'cut & paste' the photo on the Historex Agents website
2 - I pasted it in Word and sized the photo so figures in the photo was exactly the same size as the actual figures, then printed 3 copies.
3 - using bits of card I worked out the size of the frame containing the whole figures.
4 - using a piece of A4 paper I cut a strip of 'film' containing three full frames, behind each of these was fixed one of the printed pictures of the model. The result was a full size (54mm) strip of film of 3 frames each with a photo of the model in place.
5 - using bits of card I worked out where the upper and lower frames would be cut, and where the second set of figures would be cut
6 - the 'film strip' of one and two half frames was cut from a sheet of plastic card, sprocket holes punched out and the 'film' sprayed matt black.
7 - one set of figures cut with a hacksaw.
8 - all the figures painted and put in place.

The modelling was only a tiny part of the project!

:wideyed:
Wow, that takes dedication to the cause.

Thanks Peter, interesting to read your process, it is a wonderful vignette. I had not seen the Charlie Chaplin so yours was new to me.

@Andrew, thanks for the pointer to Andrea, this is the sort of piece my wife lets me buy and paint for "her" display cabinet.
