Here he is finished as far as I can see. The first few photos are the piece sitting flat on his base, I then tried to tilt him toward the light to show the detail a little better (hopefully I'll be able to get a camera with macro soon rather than using my phone).
I would love to hear what you think of him and any tips or advice for the next figure.
Thanks to those who helped with advice along the way.
Cheers,
Andrew.

Andrew congratsulations for your effort on this really diffucult subject .
Could you please share your way for the golden braid ?

Best regards

Costas

Thanks Tony this figure really did test me, but I feel like I've improved a lot after this one. It really taught me to slow down and take my time. It was a very inspiring piece, and I'm ready for the next challenging piece, don't know what it will be yet though. Hopefully it won't have as much braid though.

Costas,
Thank you. The braid work was very difficult for me and took many tries for me to be happy with it.
I used a metallic brass paint for the base colour it is a paint you can polish to make it shine after it dries. I then used reaper master series acrylics for the rest. I gave the base coat a wash of ancient bronze. I used amber gold to paint each dot on the braid, then gave each dot a highlight of golden blonde and a shadow of leather brown. Then another wash of ancient bronze and then a few washes of earth brown between the rows of braid.
It was a slow process but I am quite happy with how it looks.

I hope that explains it.

Cheers,
Andrew

Ηι Αndrew,
Got a good job in general as a whole is good.
However, in doing It took more lighting, shadows and face and the shirt would show much better.
