I've got all of Rafa's pieces including this one, I was also lucky enough to buy a couple of Rafa's original paints a few months ago. Lovely artist who is developing a great range and deserves support.

For someone like me who is not good with colour Rafa's natural artistic painting style makes it easier to follow and achieve a reasonable result

Casting is superb and they are a pleasure to paint-can't recommend them highly enough.

Have to agree with Claude, the "flats" are highly recommended and easy to buy from Rafa;)

Flat's aren't usually my thing, but this looks very nice and the painting is sublime.

Ron,

Write to Rafa at his mailing address above, postage is minimal (about 4 Euros)....have a trawl around his website there are a number of nice pieces.

Looks great. I have a question, however. The Busby bag, sabretache, plume and medallions are blowing back in the windstream. The scabbard, masterfully painted to look like it's away from the horse's neck, is moving in the opposite direction. Shouldn't it be pushed towards the back?

Not necessarily , it could bounce forward in rhythm with the horses stride at full gallop :)

This figure is based on an illustration of Rousselot. I think the movement is possible, and also provides sensation of movement.
