Beautiful execution! The cuirass and the horse are both excellent. One of my favourite MM pieces. Your overall finish is very effective... Well done.
Cheers

Hi fabrizio, I´m glad you like it. I used dark brown as a base color, then I mixed the same dark brown with bermilion red and ochre for the next washes, and then only a mix of ochre and red , adding a bit of ochre and white for the highligths. It´s like a trip from shadows to highlights.
It´s very helpful take as reference the photo of a real horse.
I hope is helpful.

Love the painting and the very matt finish you’ve achieved. But (here I go again!)… the sclera of the horse’s eye is too pronounced. I think you’d normally only see the white of its eye at the back, if looking forward, or front, if looking back – not both at the same time and not much of either. I’ve read that
such a pronounced white only occurs in “leopard” patterned horses, such as the Appaloosa or Knabstrupper which are quite rare breeds
, apparently.

Great job once again Eduardo.
I prefer oils in general but you are giving to those figures a very subtle combination of life and elegance.
What's next?;)

Great job Eduardo, I also prefer using oil for horses, but you give him a great look on acrylics...muy bueno....(y)
