Following a tip from fellow member Bluebottle I purchased this bust from The Forge of History and I’m delighted with it. It’s great value for money.
Forge of History via their eBay shop print a range of knights, gladiators and ancient Egyptians in a variety of scales 1/18 up to 1/6.
Some of the figures trip over into fantasy but there are some gems in the range.
They can adapt any figures from their range and print to order. This bust for example was only advertised as a full figure but they printed it as a bust upon request. I like some of the other knights and the gladiators are worth a look. The ancient Egyptians are certainly interesting. I’m advised by the manufacturer that a range of crusading knight will follow shortly. I’m keen to see the printed chain Mail.
This bust was advertised as being a 100mm bust but it works out at about 1/8 or 1/7……bigger than 1/9 but not as big as 1/6.
Although advertised as a generic “French Knight” the coat of arms and the period of the armour suggest that its either John Le Bon or the Dauphin.
The quality of the printing is first class….No visible print lines or any indication of where the print supports were attached. The figures was thoroughly cleaned up and sanded before despatch. The detail is really good, crisp and sharp. The mail and the texture/seams of the fabric are well rendered. Comes complete with base. The only thing I’m not sure about are the straps that would hold the pig/dog faced visor in place….but it wouldn’t be hard to remove these should I choose to do so.
I must stress that I have no connection with the manufacturer….simply a satisfied customer who will be buying more…..perhaps a full figure of a knight in 200mm scale!

A BIG PLUS 1 to this company having recently ordered a quite magnificent (huge) 150mm 'Warrior Pharaoh' which arrived in under a week from Cyprus. The kit was perfectly packed and the detail and quality of cast is jaw dropping and has to be seen to be believed. Not a 3D line, imperfection or 'chip' etc visible anywhere and zero 3D 'stubs' clean up either. A dry fit has it going together like Lego.

Cost for this superb package (including tax charged at source by eBay) and free shipping to UK - £23.94.!!! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/305434890801

Buy with complete confidence and at the price, the package is truly remarkable and I have since ordered others in the range (all sizes are available)

Hi Nigel

Thanks for a look at this , good to give the company a shout out

Looks a good piece , if anything I’d probably thin down the straps on the visor

Look forward to seeing this in V bench from you and something from Gary

Enjoy and have fun @ the bench

Just had a look at their offerings, if they started doing accessories sets they will make a fortune. some of those shields are top quality....

It's certainly a well sculpted piece....although, like Kevin, I'm bothered
by those visor straps. Can't help thinking they're a bit heavy and rather
'symmetrical'...they're not 'leathery' enough if you know what I mean.
Too picky ?

I agree Mike about the straps. As I said I might remove them altogether.

Agree they are a bit heavy but simply cut them off, keep the resin buckles to re-use and replace the straps with thin lead sheet. For the price, these pieces are probably the best 'bargains' out there ATM.
