Latest one finished, this 75mm figure by Christos Panagiotopoulos for Kontrarios, better known for their fantasy stuff , not the best of experiences as the resin cast was less than satisfactory, not to speak of the slapdash approach to French uniform regulations! The braiding on the back of the dolman was absent, as was the same braid on the front.

But anyway, frustration aside, it kept me busy for some time to turn this figure into a somewhat acceptable representation of a Captain of the 3e Régiment de Hussards at the eve of the Froeschwiller battle in the Franco-Prussian war.

Hi Pierre

A very colourful period of french military , looks a nice figure despite the errors

Like the lace addition you’ve done ...frustrating it wasn’t sculpted as you said, the leather boots look good as well

Have a look at supporting the competitions see link below

Thanks for sharing

Look forward to more

Have fun @ the bench

From your description of the casting you have produced a splendid figure Pierre and painted it to an equally impressive finish. As you know I love this period and an Hussar in definitely on my to do (at some stage) list, more so now for seeing yours.

Cheers Simon
