As a first attempt at attaching leaves (54mm, commerical made) to real wood tree like branches (actually small bush like growth collected from the woods behind my home) it has been a real chore, and I am struggling figuring out an easy and realistic looking means to attach these leaves. Also goes with out saying gluing them to my fingers or tools needs to be avoided as well.

Does anyone have proven methods for doing this...IE: type of adheasive, a special tool, a sequence of steps. Something that seemed so simple when I started has turned into a real DILEMMA and mess.

Any assistance much appreciated

Walt, I've had some success using clumps of H&A leaves mixed with green acrylic paint and matte medium. I usually heap this on my armature of roots or wire tree. After it's set, you can pick out the highlights and shadows with judicious washes and drybrushing. It is somewhat messy, but I feel it looks realistic. I haven't tried it for a tree, but I have used it for vines to convincing degree.

Hi Walt

If you have an airbrush you could try this. Using matt lacquer, spray the areas of the branches you want with it then sprinckle the pre-painted leaves over these areas. Once dry repaeat if you want more leaves on. other than that, just work slowly, an area at a time.
