Hello Planeters,

after having visited Planet Figure for some months, I'm ready for my first post in the forum. So here are some photos of my latest work, a 90mm figure representing Gandalf the white.

Your comments and suggestions are welcome

Well done Ricky, and welcome to the Planet...looks like a really nice peice of work to me, very clean and tidy sculpting...and a very good pose too.

All the best...Roy.

Ricky, Though the robe/cape could possibly make do with a few folds, I think it's a nice piece of sculpture just the same. It sometimes takes a bit of work to make the garment(s) look like clothing and not just sheets of putty draped on the figure. Welcome to the planet, I'm looking forward to seeing future works.~Gary

Great likeness and nice sculpting. I'm with Gary though, I think the fabric needs more folds and wrinkles. Especially considering the soft flowing garment worn in the movie. Keep up the good work!

Very nice. It may be possible to add more folds to the cloak by adding small snakes of putty to the surface of the cloak. Then blend each side of the snake in to the rest of the Cloak. I did that with this figure. And again your figure is really great.

Wendy, Roy, PJ, Rob and Marc, thank you for your nice comments, I really appreciate them.

Gary, Jay and Jeff, even if I have already painted the face, I'll try to apply some more folds to enhance the figure. It should work fine. Thank you for your good suggestions

I have also posted more pictures of the sculpting phase on my web page

You can find them on the "In progress page"
cheers

I had a look at your site and really like your Rocketeer. Your work is really great. I have been working a Rocketeer on and off for years now. But this is the figure I really need to get finished. He has been sitting for over a year.

Costas, Dim, Jeff and Dan thanks for your appreciation, I hope to post photos of the painted figure soon.

Jeff I will work also on the Rocketeer as soon as I will re-integrate my magic sculpt stock, because I have finished my favourite putty and it seems that it is no longer available in Europe.

I look forward to seeing your Rocketeer. I have been a fan of the comic form the start. I worked on the film as part of the sound department. A good friend of mine worked on the helmet for the film.

Very best
Jeff
