Hi!

It's my 4th Bust...

I don't remember seeing this bust shown here on PF, so here are pictures of my version of it:

I didn't paint the white of the mantle in white, rather a mix of "Pale Grey" and "Washable White" from AK.
Same for the hair.

The face was painted with a mix of "Base Flesh" and "Light Flesh", also from AK.

The lips were painted using "Brick Red", again from AK.

And the eyes (damn, the eyes... ) with "Black" and "Washable White", also from AK.

So the whole figure was painted in acrylics (for a change, as I'm used to use oils).

The base is still missing. As are the glasses.
Will do both later.

Nice progress on this ,if I might say think I would push the shadows a bit on the clothing and put a wash on the hair

Was this what you were talking about? See pics:

Did reinforce the shading on the mantle (and therefore also had to increase the highlights), using only "Pale Grey", and did a wash (a very diluted paint) on the hair (using mainly "Washable White" with only a tine drop of "Pale Grey").

Please feel free to correct me if I'm not doing things right...

I must say that the lighting is no good! Only a lamp iluminating full scale the whole bust, hence the shading gets a bit lost (but I'm too lazy to mount my 3 lamps "studio"... ).

I think the photo from the back shows it better than the others.

Hi Dolf

Good to see you at the bench , if I may , take the wash to the edges , personally I would tone down the lips a bit , shading looks better on the mantle

It's not a easy piece to paint sonall credit to you
