Hi all. This is the first person I am trying to sculpt. I wanted to make sure the basic anatomy is sound before I work on it more, so any comments are quite welcome. The bottom of the putty marks the length of the figure as the boots have not been added yet. I haven't yet decided how to pose the arms. I was thinking perhaps clasped behind his back. Isaac Brock apparently was of a rather imposing stature, so he will be a bit stockier than the average man of the early 1800's. The head is a Hornet head.

Thanks for any help. :)
Wendy

I am a sculpting layman as you are but I try to give a little feedback :)

Hope some experts will join in.

The neck seems too upright, but with the collars at that time might actually be right for this use.

The shoulders seem a little too broad. Also remember the trapeziod muscle forming from the neck down to the shoulders. Seen from the side I would give some more volume to the belly and a bit of a bulge down south *cough* ;)

The weighted leg looks good to me, could perhaps be pushed back slightly. It's buttock should stand out a bit more to the side. The shoulder above it should be lower to compensate.
The unweightened leg should have the kneecap slightly lower than the other.

English is not my first language and I hope there is something useful inside.

I have a good diagram of this "contraposto" pose somewhere in my files which is quite useful to me. PM me if you like as I don't know about copyright issues posting here.

Thank you Manfred. I will keep all that in mind. I hadn't really gotten around to putting all the muscles and such in and your suggestions will be very helpful. :)

By the way, your English is very good.
