Hi All,

Here is my latest work, the 1/35 German army in Afghanistan. The main material is super sculpey firm, but it is strange, it split after baking... any one know what's goin on?

This guy is in SABRE sniper smock and DSO Vest.

Any way, I hope you like this work, and comment is always welcome!

Very nice! I remember your Aussie figure from Stan, too. Any chance of seeing these figures commercially available?

Mario

Thanks for sharing Brian, the splitting could be a number of factors:

  • Piece not allowed to cool down while in the oven
  • Internal armature/framework a different material that can change shapes while baking
  • Baked at too high of a temperature

For me, smaller scale pieces I use an epoxy (air dry), but for larger scale pieces a polymer clay.

I hope that might help.

to ArturM,

very pleased to know you like this work!!! :)

To Maki,
Thanks very mush for your kind word, I am also seeking if there is any chance to cooperate with brand. ;) Because currently, because of my job and my new borned baby, it may not allow me to launch the work to the market by myself now..

TO gordy
Very appreciated with your reply, it does help a lot!

The other factor I recall, it maybe because of that I baked it too many times:unsure:? I usally sculpt layer by layer so I have to bake it several times, and finally the sculpey could not stand it and crack??!
