Hi..Here are some pictures about a wip..I'm working on it ..(late evening only )since a week ago so there's a lot to do yet.Indeed my idea is to sculp a couple of figures..one is the General and the other one just a german infantryman...both reading a letter from home..One (guess who?) sat on a chair the other one in a muddy trench..Differnt place..different ranks...
Once again sorry for the pics quality...seem I'm unable to do better than this!!!..
Thanks in advance for your attention..and, as usual, critics..advices and info on details are welcome...
Ah..forgot to say..is a 75mm magic sculpt...
Ciao

Very good idea for a sculpt Rinaldo and the work so far looks very good with a nice relaxed pose that conforms to the chair shape. The mans face reflects his age and experience well and gives him a very regimental look and suites the subject well. The only thing that stands out to me is the figures left ear which could do with being reduced in width and refined a bit more, apart from that its very nice.

Hi Steve..thanks for your attention..Yes, indeed that ear is really ugly..and the right one isn't better at all!I'll work on it asap..hope to do something better. It's nearly one year now I''m playing with sculpture and this is the 5th "experiment", the 2nd in 75mm..Have to admit isn't easy at all to reproduce some details like ears...Need a lot of try before have a satisfactory result..A long way to run then...but amazing too discover day by day how to mix a putty with another or just spend two hours making a new tool...realizing a minute later that's absolutely useless!

Rinaldo - This is positively a top notch idea for a vignette! You could maybe put them back to back - the luxurious wall of the General is also, on the other side, a trench wall? Maybe that's over the top. The button down leather chair is superb! With only a little work, the General's pose and head will be perfect! The "flat top" is great and the monocle establishes him as a man of his time and gives him unique character. He might be holding the letter in his right hand, while his left hand twirls a moustache end. I believe I see his kid leather gloves laid over one arm of the chair. Great details! Keep at it!

All the best,
Dan

I love this one also. A relaxed pose that suits him perfectly. I agree with the others in that the ear is too big, but all else looks spot on. Will this be commercially available?

Well..guys I'm feeling a bit shy after such a postive comments.Thanks.Answering to Dan..seems that you're able to read in someone's mind! What you said about the vignette is exactly the scene I've in my mind , the only difference is on the left arm, I thought him with a glass of (French, being in the west front) wine...Great someone likes that idea..and thank for that prompt about the left arm!
Rodrigrinch,Marcel..your words are fuel feeding my new sculpting "engine", thanks.
FigureLover..Indeed I'd really like to sculpt something that one day will be commercially available...Maybe..hardly working and trying to improve my works...This should be a great satisfaction to me.So, thanks for thinking that this figure I posted could be of some commercial interest.
I'll post a step by step so to have your help in doing something good..
Hi for now..Ciao
