Earlier this week Alpine Miniatures released their newest kits of which this kit was one of them. Sculpted by Mike Good and painted by Sang Eon Lee, this 1/16th scale figure is awesome in every detail. The kit is cast in 10 separate pieces and has 2 optional heads.

This kit comes in a sturdy green cardboard box with the parts sealed inside zip-lok baggies and sandwiched between layers of foam. The bottom photo above shows all the parts taken from the bags and are ready for inspection and to be photographed. The kit comes with 2 optional heads.

Conclusion:
I think this will be one of the best 1/16th scale figures Alpine has released. Excellent detail by the talented Mike Good combined with the almost flawless casting by Taesung Hamms will make this a very popular kit. Highly recommended.

pretty cool to see a full figure painted by Lee, and a very fine figure at that. Thanks for the review Guy.

Mike Good's head sculpts for Alpine's 1/16 line never dissappoint. I have all Mike Good's works from Alpine so far. This one will be no exception.

Beautiful piece - my only criticism is that IMO the national symbol (breast eagle) is a bit too big......but that's nit picking. You could sand it off and free hand it smaller if you cared.

Also - as a general constructive criticism for sculptors/manufacturers - I wish they would not sculpt on binocular straps and goggles. Please!!!!!! leave them to be added separately so we can convert the firgure more easily. If you can build and paint this model, you have the technical skills to add a strap and glue on a pair of goggles. I might have bought this figure to turn him into a personality figure (staff officer not in field) but I am not looking for a carving and rebuilding session to remove the goggles and binocs.

Hello Colin
Thanks for the comment.

On the other hand, if one is skilled enough to build own strap and what not,
he should be able to simply shave off the strap and fill in the attachment area
for binoculars with putty. I think this would be a rather easier task than position a
pair of binoculars and add straps in appropriate manner.
;)

Thanks Guy for review -
a really new masterpiece so boney and arrogant like only staff officiers can be-
Mike has done two bone heads so excellent , so I must like his work.
This clean friuts impressed the artist.
Thanks
