I've just been looking at your figure again mate, and I think it could do with some snow on the groundwork. That would help explain why the figure is wearing his reversible winter camoflague uniform, and why he's wearing the gloves (Vergilius - these are correct, reversible pattern gloves - they are white when turned inside out)
IMHO the base looks too dry and dusty to justify wearing such a heavy winter uniform. It just seems out of place for the Ardennes, if you know what I mean. Just my opinion mate. What do you think??

It is not my period of interest, but i find it great. The snow makes all the differences for the environment with this figure.

Looks really good! Nice painting especially the face!
one thing is that he is wearing the spring pattern (green on brown) instead of the autumn pattern (dark yellow on brown). I think the autumn patttern was more used, but you did no mistake, they were both worn in the ardennes.

Well done mate, the snow makes your excellent figure look much more realistic.
Could I also suggest that where there's snow there's mud and slush. Try putting a little bit on his boots and the lower half of his legs. Just a little bit of slush around the edges of your snow piles and I think you will see a big difference. I always like to tie my figure to the ground he's standing on by brushing some earth tone pastels (similar to school chalk but softer) of the ground colour onto the boots and the lower legs ( and his bum) and then dab on some water and let the dilute pastel run into the grooves. When it dries it looks very realistic and helps blend your figure into its environment. If he's fighting in the Ardennes in 1944, he's going to be filthy. C'mon Martin, be bold and dirty him up a bit . Go on you know you want to!!
