I ordered the figure directly from Jeff soon after it came available, and it arrived today, thank you NZ Post.

I received a plain, unmarked, cardboard box, without the usual photograph of the contents, that was overly large and contained mostly bubble wrap. Which protected the figure therein. Refer images below.

On opening the box, I was greeted with a beautifully cast and detailed figure as described.

Parts break down is regular, with no air bubbles and only a couple of casting seams - back of the arms. The boots are separate parts with a peg and hole connection: the left boot and the right leg both have a peg, with a corresponding hole on the leg and boot, respectively. This is a great departure from previous releases from Jeff which I have been critical of; that is a break in the leg at the knee.

The right hand lacks a thumb.... which is provided as a separate part, for a close fit, rather than being cast into the rifle and trying to get the alignment correct.

A dry fit of the boots to the legs, and the arms to the shoulder found no gaps to get worried about. By that, I mean at the back of the left shoulder, there was a hair line gap that will fill with CA glue without being noticeable once painted. There will be no need for a trowel and putty here, thank you.

The rifle is broken down into several parts, mainly barrel and action, the stock, a handle, the bipod, and another part yet to be identified, refer image. I am sure that once I take more than a second to look at this, the part's placement will be obvious. Yep, it is the handle to the bayonet. Emergency over.

I particularly liked the folds of the uniform, which on some of Jeff's releases can look a little basic, almost rushed. For me, this is a return to form for Jeff and why I prefer his figures.

This guy is carrying a full and complete load, all nicely cast as separate parts. The only parts cast integral are the ammo pouches to the front. The webbing and belt order are among the best I've seen for a sculptured figure, not a 3D scan and print one. I would say that the collar tabs are huge in scale and made need a trim down and possible replacement with decals, but that's up to you. The high relief of the tabs may assist with painting later.

The helmet is very crisp and clean, with the chin strap cast in-situ. Which segways to the face and head. I've seen this guy before, the head having been used on previous releases, which is fine unless you're going to group this guy with others, or there is a companion figure. Who knowns? The guy's comes with a huge block to remove, but the cut will be hidden by the helmet, which has its own to remove. That may be more problematic as the helmet is curved at this point and will take care to retain the correct profile.

There are no instructions or painting guide, you're on your own there. Online references are plentiful and painting after priming should be straightforward.

I've very happy with this in the grey army and will break out the resin saw as soon as I can.

Ok, here are some images. Any questions, hola. If you'd like more images, hola. Otherwise, I'll wait for the next new release from Jeff; until then, happy bench time.
