I just picked up some Liquidex glazing medium to help with my acrylics and improve flow. Is this something commonly used and is it meant to be mixed with water? Just wondering how well this works.

Thanks,

-Ronnie

Yes Ronnie, I agree with you. I normally use Vallejo glaze medium, mixing with water and paint. Work great. However, I think that the color paint can go to lighten color with this medium (to be confirmed ????). I need to buy it more cheap. In Spain it is very expensive.

Miguel.

Were you having problems with flow?

You can use glazing medium straight or with water. Lots of people using acrylic/vinyl paints just dilute with water but plenty do use a medium of some kind, some or all of the time.

Instructions for how Liquitex intend it to be used I think are printed right on the label. If not you'll find them easily on their website.

Thank you very much for the feedback and suggestions.

I am having somewhat of an issue with paint flow. But I'm still learning and going through the process of what works and what doesn't (since I'm VERY green at this). I think I'm thinning to just about the right consistency, but when I offload the excess paint from my brush I don't get much coverage at all. Just trying to keep the brush moist versus wet.

I have seen some posts and sbs where folks talk about using a glaze medium, so thought I'd try it.

Thanks, again!
