Although it looks quite nice, except for the balustrade fence all this would be quite easily done with some balsa foam or blue foam....?

Anyway, could some parts be from Reality in Scale? (E.g. the balustrade).

Ron, those are ready made vignette bases from DIORAMANIA.
Check this link
There's a 50Mb PDF catalogue to download and an ebay link if you want to buy any.

Ron, I have no idea.

However. I have barked on enough about this 'Niche', for 'Pre-manufactured', bases in the past! in numerous scales as a 'Niche-Market'.

Only to be ignored.:(.. However this thread does prove my point.

There are great 'Grounds men or scenic modellers' , that could utilise there skill and make a 'Killing'. Yet what do we see.. Not much! Why?

Given the amount of supplies and products and skill out there, I am never ceased to be surprised as to the lack of availability of such kit.

It would make a pleasant change to just lumps of nice wood.

Painted or Un-painted'. Allowing choice for the painter.

Just a thought.

Mark the serious guys like to tailor their groundwork to the project in question , the pics look more suitable to WWII esp AFV stuff

There is a wee bit of stuff available in 54 mm but not much above that scale .

The first thing I tend to do is bin any attempt at a pre formed base that comes with a kit or at least modify it my own scene .
My recent post of the Marauder being a point in question . I did use the original but continued it down into the cutaway in the plinth so it is half me :D

What I do like with these is the addition of water , something I struggle with :) as Del likes to point out :D

Ron, this is my point. .. There is a plethora of scenic in 54mm. But as you say, not much above that! .. I am not talking about production casting.

More bespoke , one-off's. or limited supply. Someone who has the confidence and skill to create a larger scale scene. (Un-Painted). 75mm-120mm!

Done in their own time. then sell it off.

High Regards,

Mark.

Mark...you and I have discussed this subject many a time.....whilst I can see where your coming from......I have to agree with Ron T.....we each like to create something unique to tell the story......
Another issue is cost....how much would you expect to pay for a larger scale 'one off' scenic base.....taking into account the base itself.....then all the materials needed to create the scene setting.....
Add to that the creators fee for time.....wouldn't/couldn't be cheap.....an area that a lot of us have to make the primary concern....

Ron

The water link looks like all the others , 2 part resin mix . the trouble seems to be when you go to clear resin it has a setting problem unique to it , get the mix out by a very little and then the setting problems arise .
Art shops sell clear resin to make those silly paper weights with things inside them , it seems to work but you gotta buy a large amount .

Please read! .. I did not say anything about casting etc. ?? :(

So those that want such a market can go and ! .. Maybe one day.:D

I give up on this aspect. This is a dead fish! .. Ready for fish-pie!

Oh-Well. I guess I will have to soak it up. ( With cream , Leak, prawn & scallop, including a Creamy Mash topping) Baked @ 170, for 35 mins.(y)
