Recently got back into figure painting, moving up from 28mm wargaming figs to 70mm (eyes going...). Been looking at books, magazines and DVDs. Does anyone have any particular good sort of mid-range stuff, as in not total beginner but just need to kick it up a notch, that they would recommend? The F.A.Q. book seems sold out everywhere, but any magazines like Figure International, etc?

I agree with Ron (Above),.. there is lots of excellent content for you to browse with this, 'On-Line', publication! and at a very cheap price. ... But if you want to include another source, the magazine by.......... 'Danilo Cartacci', is a very good one for your library! ..
. it covers a lot of paint mediums and techniques.
