Many thanks Kevin

Hi Wolfgang,

Very nice rendition indeed! (y)

As Nap says, I'm particularly impressed by the whites!

May we know how you achieved that amazing result? What medium do you use, oils, acrylics, others?

I'm in the process of painting a white jacket myself, in 1/16 scale, and so far I'm not happy with the result, especially the shadings, that I'm trying to paint with Raw Umber (I use oils), but then when trying to clean them with a make-up brush, it simply ruined the rest of the whites (for the white I used a mix of Titanium White, with a small tiny bit of Payne's Grey and Raw Umber, not sure if it's the best mix, but as far as I understand we shouldn't use pure white...) .
And what color(s) did you use for the highlights, pure white?

Thanks!

Cheers!

Hi Dolf
Thank you for the comment.
l only use Acrylcolours, mostly Vallejo.i never have used pure white,my Basiccolour for white is stonegrey.
The shadows are a mix of stonegrey and a little darkbrown or sometimes a point of darkgrey.
The Highlights are made of stonegrey and a little silvergrey.
Greetings
Wolfgang

Thank you very much, Wolfgang (y)

I've never used acrylics, nor Vallejo nor others. But did some search on the colors you mention.

Was able to find a Vallejo matt Stone Grey (#70.884), guess that's the one you mention (they do have another color with the same name but that one has a Satin finish, so I assume you mean the matt one).

Same for the Silver Grey, I found the matt one, #70.883, guess that's the one you mean, even if they do have others with the same name.

As for the Dark Brown, as well as the Dark Grey, they do have a small variety of each one of these.
I suppose you mean the Wash ones, for both of these, right?

Anyway, from seeing how these acrylic colors look, I guess I could try to find a match on my oils colors, so again thanks a lot!

Cheers!

Yes,No.884 and 883 are right and the brown in this case is 882 chocolate, grey is 992 neutralgrey .
For the white i have only used this four colours, more or less for the shadows and highlights

Many thanks once again, Wolfgang (y)

"the brown in this case is 882 chocolate"

Assume you mean 872, Vallejo Chocolate Brown :)

Cheers!
