My son and I went this afternoon to see the movie. If you have not seen it yet, GO! It has got to be one of the best "period" movies ever done. It's excellent, the visuals are fantastic and the "characters" DO NOT use modern slang when speaking. My hat is off to those folks that researched every aspect of the time period. The soundtrack is also excellent and would no doubt provide hours of inspiration while working on a naval figure.~Gary (y) (y) (y) (y) (y)

Gary,

Is this the new seafaring Russel Crowe movie? If so, the trailers looked interesting, and I'll definitely see it if it comes to the theater in the tiny town I live near. It seems as though there are several period movies being released now and in the near future. I'm interested in The Last Samurai myself. The costuming and setwork looks pretty good from the trailers, although I have my doubts about the story. Still, it's not too hard to get me to suspend my disbelief if the visuals are good.

I've heard about a movie still in production called The Aviator, but I don't know anything about it other than it has something to do with pioneer and/or WWI aviation. Anybody heard of it?
